About Us

We are a small freindly family run campsite Owned and run by our family for over 50 years in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside with 45 tent piches and 10 caravan / motorhome pitches. We like to keep our site as peaceful and quite as possible so you can relax during your stay and take in the view of Mam Tor, The Vale of Edale and Kinder.

The vans are set up for a maximum of 2 people to enjoy a camping experience without the hassle of putting up a tent or getting wet when it rains. The van has a full sized double bed and memory foam mattress, which is made up on arrival so no need to bring your own bedding, and is a fixed feature. There is a separate table and chairs at the rear of the van so the bed does not have to be put up and down each day as you would have to in most two birth vans. The vans cooking facilities is a two ring gas hob; we have provided pots, pans cutlery, crockery and utensil, The van has 12 volt electric lighting and 1 USB port to charge your mobile phone All powered by solar panels . . There is no other plug sockets or electrical equipment in the van. Built into the kitchen there is a cool box for use as your fridge. We supply and replenish the ice packs on request . As the site has its own toilets and showers and these are close by to the caravans there is no toilet or washroom in the van its self. The vans can only be booked via Airbnb just search Waterside farm edale in the where are you going box On Airbnb site or app and one of our vans should be listed to see both vans click on host (Helen) and both vans should then be shown.

What to do

Kinder Scout

We are at the start of the Pennine way, with footpaths to Kinder Scout. There are plenty of lovely walks near by but would recommend Kinder Scout.

Treak Cliff Cavern

Started as a Blue John mine over 300 years ago, Treak Cliff Cavern continues to mine, process and manufacture ornamental items and jewellery from Blue John Stone today. On the 40 minute guided tour visitors can see the most abundant veins of Blue John Stone in the world and some of the 'finest stalactites' in the Peak District. We also have a shop with a vast array of rocks and minerals from around the world. Visit our free to enter museum and read about the history of the mine and see some beautiful antique Blue John ornaments, after which you can enjoy a slice of Blue John cake and refreshments from our on site cafe while admiring the view down the valley.

Abseiling Derbyshire

Abseiling from Millers Dale Bridge off the Monsal Trail and directly over the sparkling River Wye must be the best way of viewing the beautiful valley and Derbyshire Dales. Whether you're visiting the Peak District for an adrenaline rush, fun-fueled stag or hen party, a 10 year olds birthday party or family gathering, our friendly, qualified & professional team will give you a memorable adventure.
